Over the past few years, our Religious Exploration classes for kids have focused on Unitarian Universalist values and identity. This year, we’re ready to broaden our perspective and begin exploring other faith traditions, and identify how they are both similar to and different from our own.
Tying in with UUCC’s spiritual theme of the year, Streams of Life, chosen by Rev. Gy and the Sunday Services Committee, the children will be Sailing Around the World. We’ll explore different countries, cultures, and religions through art, music, food, games, holiday traditions, and more.
We will begin in the Port of UUCC to pick up our passports and prepare for our journey. We’ll learn useful skills like how to read maps and use a compass. Most importantly, we’ll create a covenant—a set of shared promises that will guide how we treat one another throughout the year.
From Tel Aviv to Tokyo, from Mecca to Mexico City, we will “visit” a different country each month to explore the many paths to truth that are the world’s religions.
