Sunday, July 30 – Church Picnic and Bridging Ceremony
The Bridging Ceremony for Hayden will take place from noon to 4:00pm at the home of Joe and Nancy Calme, near the village of Cassopolis.
Come prepared to have fun – to fish in the Calme’s pond, to enjoy our potluck, and participate (or not) in playing yard games. The Calme farm is at 57764 M 62, Cassopolis, MI 49031. Here are some written directions:.Directions to Bluestem Pond
Please bring a dish to pass, your items to grill (Joe and Nancy will have hot dogs), a lawn chair or blankets for the grass, lawn games, sunscreen, hats and bug spray. The highlight of this day will be the Hayden’s Bridging Ceremony. As we witness this Unitarian Universalist tradition – the child bridging from the religious education program to the congregation as a young adult -we will also hear from Hayden and his mentor, Eric Nelson, about their time with one another.
It helps if you confirm you’re coming and what you’re bringing to the potluck. It is easy! Go to our online check-in.
