Michael Wilder was born and raised in Chicago and currently serves as the Group Violence Intervention Coordinator for the City of Kalamazoo. Michael did not always seem destined for such a prestigious title. Try Career Criminal instead. After three trips to prison, his future was as bleak as the desert. However, God had a different plan for him. After his last release from prison he enrolled in college and graduated from Kalamazoo Valley Community College with a degree in Political Science and the rest is history! Michael is a man of God, a devoted husband to his beautiful wife Dominque, and a father to his children. He is also an educator at Covenant Academy in Kalamazoo. He co-founded Peace During War with Yafinceio Harris. It is an organization that helps youth find their purpose and turn their experiences in the streets into something positive. Yafinceio and Michael were once rival enemies in the streets, but they now run an organization together, doing awesome and healing work in our community.
