Every civilization has baked a bread in some shape or form, using techniques that have been passed down through the generations, and using grains grown on their homelands. In sharing bread, we celebrate the earth that feeds and nourishes us, and our connection to her and to each other. For this Sunday’s Bread Communion, we invite you to bake, or bring, bread to break with each other during the service.
As we gratefully receive the bounties shared through our earth and through each other, may we also share blessings forward to those in need, as we are able. With this in mind, please consider bringing canned goods or staples with you to the service, which we will then donate to a local food pantry.
