Laura Ray attends the UU Church of Greater Lansing and is currently an Economic Justice Alliance of Michigan (EJAM) Fellow. Michigan Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Network (MUUSJN) is one of seven organizations within EJAM. Laura is taking up the subject of disability within the Lansing UU church and other interested Michigan congregations. She will address the wide range of disabilities that we may likely come across at one time or another within our congregation and explore the varying needs that should be met in order to create a culture of inclusion. She writes, “For everyone, whether having a disability or not, the environment in which we live, must feel welcoming in order for everyone to grow and thrive.”
